Connected and Engaged in Multiple Dimensions

Move-To-The-Music

11/29/2025 Northeast Arc Parcels

We are naturally connected in many ways. While recorded music is accessible to most of us, and dancing is always an option when we listen to it, truly live opportunities—moving freely with our bodies, improvising, and feeling inspired and energized in a public musical setting—are uncommon. For people with disabilities, such experiences become exceedingly rare and precious. Their exposure to live music is severely limited.

The fact that we, the group of young people, bring live music to them is already creating an incredible connection among performers, audience and everyone else. What surprised us most was the audience's eagerness to dance. They moved in the most free, expressive, and engaged ways, their bodies and minds relaxing within an inspiring space filled with music, breath, joy, respect, and gratitude. Aren’t we all looking for a chance to express without worrying about being judged?
